I think many people hat Sai because he joined team 7 and he wasn't in it from the beginning so change is hard also he was kind of evil at first

He used to pick on Naruto a lot at first and his former mission by Danzo was to assasinate Naruto.He is well we have to admit different from normal people,dosen't know how to portray emotions well and well many Sasuke fans will begrudge him 'coz he took Sasuke's spot on the team and he wasn't lovable in the beginning anyway.His reputation has had a sea change after that though.
